Harm Rietveld of Dutch craft firm Memories to Keep realised, through beautiful and special encounters with people, that he wanted to support them in their grief process in some way. He discovered that people find it comforting to have something to hold in their hands and developed the LittleWood© wooden urn. The little urn contains a small cavity in which you can keep the ashes or a memento of someone who has passed. Memories to Keep makes lovely products from various natural materials that offer people emotional support following loss or bereavement.

In 2016, Commissie Normalisatie Baggercomponenten (CNB – commission for the standardisation of dredging components) was founded by Boskalis, DEME Group, Jan de Nul and Van Oord, with the aim of inspecting technical safety and where necessary, formulating proposals for a new or modified standardisation.

The most important reasons for this were:

  1. Pressures being used were ever higher;
  2. Standards that no longer reflect the current working conditions;
  3. Increasingly large pipe diameters that no longer comply with the standards.

The four parties participating in CNB met on a regular basis and were looking for a specialist to take on CNB’s reporting and communications.

WRITING TEXTS, STARTING BY LISTENING

Exito wrote and edited the new site’s content in close collaboration with Frecoma’s Communication Officer Nicole Broekhoven and our web designer.

The site now contains texts that perfectly match Durafit’s rebranding.

We were given the job of writing and editing various marketing documents in the same style, such as a leaflet, texts for the newsletter and another accompanying texts. All of the texts were then translated into English and German by our team of native speakers.

Like all other museums, Space Expo has been closed for a while due to COVID-19. The space travel museum reopened on 6 July and presented a unique experience: Mission at the museum! This took some preparation. All museum employees worked hard to comply with all COVID-19 regulations while still offering a really appealing new exhibition for visitors of all ages.

COVID-19 information, new terms and conditions, texts on and about the new ticketing system, adapted web content and the beautiful journey through space all had to be translated and subtitled beautifully into English, French and German.

WEHIGHLIGHTS MAGAZINE

Wärtsilä Netherlands publishes a digital magazine with personal interviews and photography that brings the sector and the people working to life. Most of the texts are written in Dutch by employees and copywriters.

It’s up to Exito to create the English versions. Every once in a while, there’s a translation in the opposite direction. Exito checks Dutch texts, confers with Sabine Bonenkamp and corrects where necessary. Then, a team of three translators gets to work on translating all of the texts into English, usually within a short timeframe. To do so, we use such tools as translation memories, glossaries and style guides created especially for Wärtsilä. The permanent team of native speakers then checks everything and performs final editing and proofreading.

All of the translations are ready quickly and on time for publication, using the right jargon the desired tone of voice and taking into account the same terminology that was used before and recurring themes or special points of interest.

Because Exito also translates other documents, such as presentations or workshops about safety, press releases or newsletters, the team is well aware of what to communicate. The result is a timely, completely proofread digital magazine publication that is enjoyable to read in both English and Dutch.
