COMMISSIE NORMALISATIE BAGGERCOMPONENTEN
In 2016, Commissie Normalisatie Baggercomponenten (CNB – commission for the standardisation of dredging components) was founded by Boskalis, DEME Group, Jan de Nul and Van Oord, with the aim of inspecting technical safety and where necessary, formulating proposals for a new or modified standardisation.
The most important reasons for this were:
- Pressures being used were ever higher;
- Standards that no longer reflect the current working conditions;
- Increasingly large pipe diameters that no longer comply with the standards.
CNB’S REQUEST
CLEAR REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION
The four parties participating in CNB met on a regular basis and were looking for a specialist to take on CNB’s reporting and communications.
The commission needed a solution that allowed the members to concentrate on the substance rather than worrying about a correct written account.
A solution with a good copywriter, who isn’t intimidated by technical discussions about flanges, ball joints or dewatering bag.

THE APPROACH
TAKING THE MINUTES, WRITING AND DESIGNING
Exito has been supporting the commission in any and all its text-related tasks since early 2016.
From unambiguous minutes and correspondence to clear texts on standard sheets, inspection sheets and accompanying documents and manuals in Dutch and English.
Moreover, Exito also designed the CNB logo for an unambiguous presentation in all of the four CNB dredgers’ communications.

Exito works in a structured manner and is an active participant in the CNB.
The commission can rely blindly on all documents provided, from high quality agendas to minutes, letters and reports in both Dutch and English.
The CNB standards were implemented across the sector and put into practice from January 2020.
